What Are The Maintenance Items For Ordinary Semi-trailers?
1. Tire Inspection
Check the tire pressure monthly under normal temperature. Replenish the pressure in time if it is below the standard. Too high or too low pressure will affect driving safety. Inspect the tires for cracks and replace them if there are potential hazards. Use tires of the same model.
2. Battery Maintenance & Inspection
Check whether the battery is firmly fixed. The electrolyte should be between the upper and lower marks; add electrolyte or distilled water if near the lower mark. Keep the battery cables well connected and the surface clean and dry. Disconnect the battery if the vehicle is idle for a long time, reconnect and start the engine for about 20 minutes every two weeks, and charge it if power is insufficient.
3. Clutch Master Cylinder Fluid Level Check
The clutch fluid level is normal if between the high and low marks. If below the standard, the piston cup of the master or slave cylinder may be damaged, causing hard gear shifting. Please go to a repair station immediately for inspection.
4. Brake Fluid Level Check
The brake fluid level is normal if between the high and low marks. If near or below the lower limit, there may be a leak or excessive brake shoe wear. Use the same type of brake fluid to avoid damaging parts and prevent corrosion to the paint.
5. Engine Coolant Level Check
Do not open the radiator cap when the engine is hot to avoid scalding. After cooling, check that the coolant level is between the full and low marks. Add distilled water, pure water or coolant if needed. If the coolant drops quickly, check the cooling system for leaks at a repair station.
